CIS Council of Heads of State Calls for World Free from War and Disputes

| Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States recently released an appeal to the peoples of its member nations and the international community on the 70th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War. Fascist Germany and its followers invaded the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941, the appeal said, adding the people of the CIS turned out to defend the country and fought together to defeat the enemies, firmly convinced of the justice of their struggle. The 70th anniversary reminds one of the lesson that such a war should not be allowed to repeat itself and aggressors can never evade punishment, it noted. It called on the international community to pool efforts in the struggle to build a world free from war, disputes and violence. |
