China Calls for Intensified Ideological and Political Construction at Military Academies

Beijing, June 29 (KCNA) -- Xu Caihou, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Communist Party of China and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission, stressed the need to step up the ideological and political construction at military academies. He said this when touring them in Jiangsu and Anhui Provinces recently.

The military academies are playing an important strategic role in army building as they are important bases for training talents and effecting theoretical and scientific and technological innovations, he noted.

He called upon the military academies across the country to honestly implement series of important theories and instructions of President Hu Jintao on building a strong nation with talents and promoting the development of education and thus train many military talents of new type equipped with high qualifications.
