Kim Il Sung's Death Anniversary Commemorated Abroad

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- Nigerian and Peruvian organizations posted special write-ups on Internet homepages on the 17th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung. The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea in the article "Respect for President Kim Il Sung" on June 23 said it has become part of life for the Korean people to express their respect for the President. In Pyongyang there is the Kumsusan Memorial Palace where the President lies in state, the article said, adding: General Secretary Kim Jong Il saw to it that the Kumsusan Assembly Hall, where the President worked during his lifetime, was spruced up as the Kumsusan Memorial Palace, the sacred temple of Juche, firmly determined to continue upholding the President as in his lifetime. He also made sure that the Juche year and the Day of the Sun were set and Kim Il Sung was upheld as the eternal President of socialist Korea. He has led the army and people of the DPRK to building a thriving nation true to the President's idea and cause, the article said, stressing that the President is alive amid boundless reverence of the Korean people. The Peruvian-Korean Institute of Culture and Friendship posted a video introducing the Kumsusan Memorial Palace on Internet homepage on June 8. |
