Granma carried an article titled "South Korea stages military exercises in areas along the Military Demarcation Line close to the DPRK". It carried a photo of south Korean troops in exercises.

The south Korean army stages the said war exercises this week, it said, and went on:

The military exercises will increase the tension between the north and the south of Korea.

South Korea regularly holds military exercises in all areas and wages joint exercises with the U.S.

Tens of thousands of U.S. troops are present in south Korea, the paper noted.

The Prensa Latina News Agency and Radio Reloj also reported the news of the military exercises on the same day.
