The CPC was founded nine decades ago when the Chinese people were at the crossroads of life and death, the editorial said, adding this great event completely changed the features of the Chinese revolution and led China to a new future.

It further said:

After its foundation the CPC rallied and led the Chinese people to build new China where the people become masters. It also established the basic socialist system, independent and comparatively perfect industrial system and national economic system and opened the road to socialism with Chinese characteristics, a signal achievement to be recorded in history, and brought about great changes.

The truth remains unchanged in 90 years of adversity and trials that there is no new China without the CPC and the looks of China were renewed thanks to it. The belief has been hardened that the people are just the basis, lifeline and strength of the Party.

Eternal devoted service for the people can help record a new chapter honorable for the history, the forerunners and the times, the editorial said, calling upon all the people to work hard in face of any danger and challenge, closely rallied around the CPC Central Committee with Hu Jintao as its general secretary, and advance toward the beautiful future of the socialist cause with Chinese characteristics and a great prosperity of the Chinese people.
