DPRK Weightlifters Bag 8 Medals at World Championships

| Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- The DPRK weightlifters won 2 gold medals, 5 silvers and 1 bronze at the 2011 Junior World Weightlifting Championships in Malaysia. Om Yun Chol jerked 156 kg in men's 56 kg category while Rim Jong Sim 128 kg in women's 63 kg category, placing first. Choe Hyo Sim came second in women's 53 kg category total with 89kg snatch and 108 kg jerk, bagging three silver medals. Jo Bok Hyang also finished second in women's 58 kg category total with 122 kg jerk, winning two silver medals. Rim Jong Sim won a bronze medal in total. The championships brought together at least 280 weightlifters from more than 50 countries and regions including China, Russia and Italy. |
