Songun politics, formulated to be an effective socialist political mode by General Secretary Kim Jong Il, has fully demonstrated its validity and vitality in the Korean revolution.

On July 5, Juche 90 (2001), he published a celebrated work "Songun Politics of Our Party Is an Effective Socialist Political Mode", in which he systematizes the WPK's Songun revolutionary line and Songun politics in an integral way and expounds them in a comprehensive way.

The work defines President Kim Il Sung's history of leadership as the history of the Songun-based leadership. On the basis of his Songun idea, it clarifies the essence, principles and contents of Songun politics and gives the tasks for implementing the politics.

Contained in the work are new, unique ideas and theories, including the fundamentals of the Songun-based revolution, the principle of putting the army ahead of the working class and the idea of achieving unity of the army and civilians in ideology and working spirit.

The work proves the advantages of Songun politics and serves as guidelines for developing the Songun idea.
