Workers Vow to Stand in Van of Onward Movement

Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- An oath-taking meeting of trade union members and other workers took place at the plaza of the Party Founding Memorial Tower on Wednesday on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung. A reporter and speakers noted that the President formed the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea and clearly showed the road ahead of the Federation in every period and at every stage of the developing revolution while energetically leading it to fulfill its mission and duty as transmission belt and reliable helper to the Workers' Party of Korea. General Secretary Kim Jong Il kindled the flames of great innovation and rapid progress and laid a firm foundation for building a thriving nation while ceaselessly visiting work and construction sites across the country where a drive for great surge is going on, they said. They stressed the need for the trade union members and other workers to defend and exalt the revolutionary idea and feats of the President and carry out the revolution and construction in keeping with the requirements of the Juche idea, the Songun idea. They also called for working fresh miracles and feats day by day through dynamic all-out offensive in the van of the ongoing drive for great surge. Present there were Ri Yong Su, department director of the WPK Central Committee, and trade union officials and members and other workers. |
