Anniversary of Demise of Kim Il Sung Commemorated in Various Countries

| Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- Events took place in various countries from Jun. 29 to Jul. 2 on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung. They included round-table talks in Peru, a meeting to remember President Kim Il Sung in Switzerland, a reading session and film show in Ethiopia. The participants of the film show watched the Korean film "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation". Tani Baler Lopera, international secretary of the Communist Party of Peru (Red Motherland), said that the political idea of the President was to believe in people as in Heaven and devote his all to them, always finding himself among them. Kim Il Sung will always be alive with the human history as he was deeply respected and trusted by the people in his lifetime. Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, spoke highly of Kim Il Sung as a great statesman who devoted his all to the prosperity of the country, people's happiness and national reunification all his life. He referred to the fact that General Secretary Kim Jong Il, creditable successor to the ideology and cause of Kim Il Sung, has wisely led the Korean people's drive for building a great prosperous and powerful nation. A message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the event in Switzerland. |
