Kong Sam Ol, deputy prime minister in charge of the Royal Palace, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee at the instruction of King Norodom Sihamoni.

The committee set the remembrance period from July 1 to 15 and decided to give wide media publicity to the greatness and undying feats of the President and hold remembrance events.
