Iran Refutes Story about Maltreatment of American Hikers

| Tehran, July 7 (KCNA) -- Iran has not mistreated two imprisoned American hikers, the Iranian mission to the UN said in its statement on July 1. The two men have been held in Iran for nearly two years on espionage charges. Relatives of the two Americans recently said at a press conference that the imprisoned were put to physical torture and mistreated. But the statement dismissed it as groundless. |
