Chinese Art Group Gives Its Premiere

| Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- An art group of dance drama "Confetti on Silk Road" of the Gansu Provincial Song and Dance Theatre of China gave its premiere at the Ponghwa Art Theatre Saturday. It is visiting the DPRK on the 50th anniversary of the DPRK-China treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance and the 30th anniversary of its performance in the DPRK. The dance drama has a prologue, six chapters and an epilogue. It deals with a story dating back to the Tang Dynasty based on a mural painting in Gansu Province to suit the aesthetic taste of the times and feelings of its people. It portrays friendly feelings forged between the Chinese people and peoples of foreign countries along the silk road. The dance drama was acclaimed by the audience for the elegant and delicate dance movements to the tune of cheerful music and their high artistic skills. Among the audience were An Tong Chun, minister of Culture, officials in the fields of culture and arts and media as well as creators and artistes. Liu Hongcai, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and embassy staff members and Chinese guests staying here were also among the audience. The performance goes on. The Ministry of Culture hosted a reception for the art group at Pyongyang Koryo Hotel Saturday. |
