Leader Kim Jong Il visited the farm on his field guidance. Going round the fields of a youth workteam, he met its head Ryu Myong Gum.

He praised her for working hard to implement the Workers' Party of Korea's policy on bringing a radical turn in agricultural production after volunteering to work on the Miru Plain after her graduation from a university. He wished the girl a happy future.

With the single intention to translate into a brilliant reality the behests of President Kim Il Sung by doing farming well, she led the workteam, staying in the fields most hours of the day. She remarkably enhanced the mechanization proportion in farming, took the lead in double cropping and worked hard to do rice farming in non-paddy fields.

She became chairman of the management board of a farm on the Miru Plain under the trust of Kim Jong Il. She is working hard to implement the Party's plan to settle the food problem of the people by doing farming well this year as befitting an official in charge of the major front in improving the standard of people's living.
