US Introduction of Nuclear Submarine to S. Korea Blasted

Pyongyang, July 16 (KCNA) -- The U.S. forces in south Korea recently opened to the public the nuclear submarine Texas belonging to the U.S. 7th Fleet which they brought to Pusan Port. This was not simply aimed to demonstrate the modern submarine but to egg the puppet forces of south Korea on to launch a war of aggression backed by its nuclear means.

Commenting on this, Minju Joson Saturday says: This was little short of agitating a war.

The gravity of the issue lies in that a war to be provoked by the U.S. by putting the south Korean army to the fore may spill over into a nuclear war.

On July 15, 54 years ago the U.S. officially announced that it would start arming its forces in south Korea with nuclear weapons. The U.S. is the chieftain which spawned the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula half a century ago. It has constantly threatened the DPRK with nuclear weapons.

This is the very reason why the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula has not yet seen a solution and the danger of a nuclear war is increasing on the peninsula with each passing day.

The U.S. should not drive the Lee Myung Bak group to escalating the confrontation with fellow countrymen if it does not want to provoke a nuclear war on the peninsula.
