The scientist was Jong Il Chol, a room chief of the Automation Engineering Department of Kim Chaek University of Technology.

Kim Jong Il was so glad to meet Jong again, saying that he met Jong at the dehydrated apple slices plant of the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm in June. He called him today's "Hong Kil Dong", a nickname reflecting his loving care and trust, saying Jong goes to the different parts of the country to translate into reality the idea of the Party to push back the frontiers of the latest science and technology.

Inspired by the warm loving care shown by the leader who remembered even an ordinary scientist whom he briefly met in the course of his field guidance, Jong studied and introduced the field bus control system with the use of intelligence regulator. He is now striving to apply the combined automation system to machine factories.
