Hu Jintao Calls upon Youth to Promote Development of Cross-Straits Relations

Beijing, July 16 (KCNA) -- Hu Jintao, general secretary the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, called upon the youth to further develop the cross-straits relations. He said this at a joint cross-straits gathering of young people held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on July 12.

In recent years the cross-straits relations have maintained the excellent trend of peaceful development, he noted, adding that is why the young people could freely visit across the straits as today.

The promotion of the development of the cross-straits relations entirely depends on the young people, he said, calling upon them to boost exchange and cooperation to open the beautiful future of the prospering Chinese nation.
