It noted the President's greatest wish was to make the Korean people live well with no more to desire in the world.

Kim Jong Il's leadership over the building of a thriving nation is directed to turning the lifelong desire and ideal of the President into a brilliant reality, it said.

Al Baath, organ of the Syria's Baath Arab Socialist Party, on July 7 carried a special write-up under the title "On the 17th Anniversary of Demise of President Kim Il Sung".

It said the President gave a scientific exposition to all the issues arising in realizing global independence, strengthening the Non-Aligned Movement and South-South cooperation and establishing a fair international order.

He actively supported the people of various countries in their struggle for national liberation against the imperialism, it stressed.

Friheten, organ of the Communist Party of Norway, said in an article on July 6 that the President worked hard for the victorious advance of the human cause of independence and the socialist cause till the last moments of his life.
