Afghan Civilian Casualties on Steady Increase

| Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- Civilian deaths are increasing in Afghanistan due to military operations conducted by the U.S.-led NATO forces under the signboard of "counter-terrorism". Due to military operations and violence, the number of civilian deaths in the country reached 1,462 in the first six months of 2011, an increase of 15 percent over the same period of 2010, the UN said on Thursday. |
