Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- At least ten people were killed and six others missing due to landslides triggered by monsoon rains in Nepal's western and central remote mountainous districts on Friday. The hurricane swept the southern part of Dominica recently. Due to the hurricane accompanied by heavy rains, three persons were killed and at least 600 homes damaged and about 2 408 people displaced as of July 13. Flashfloods due to heavy rains are expanding in the southern Philippines. The death toll reached 43, government officials said Wednesday. Around 450,000 children are reportedly at risk of diarrhea diseases and pneumonia. The rescuing work is being done at the flood-stricken areas. |
