Present at the seminar were a staff member of the UN Population Fund mission in the DPRK, officials concerned and researchers.

The seminar heard speeches under the titles "Population Situation and Prospect," "On Aging Population Situation" and others.

Speakers referred to the fact that in the DPRK healthcare for women and children are being improved and state investment in this field is on the increase.

They stressed that the DPRK would boost cooperation with international bodies including the UN Population Fund to implement the action program of the international population development conference and achieve the Millennium Development Goals in the future, too.

Seminars held in Pyongyang and Hamhung to mark World Population Day provided an opportunity to increase the social awareness of the UN Population Fund's mission and cooperation and healthcare and guarantee of the rights of the women and children in the DPRK, etc.
