At the ceremony, decrees of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly were read out and Kim Il Sung Prize was awarded to the drama, one of the monumental masterpieces representing the literature and arts in the era of Songun.

The commendations included the title of DPRK Labor Hero and Gold Medal (Hammer and Sickle) and Order of National Flag First Class, Kim Il Sung Prize, watch bearing the august name of President Kim Il Sung (to four persons), citation of General Secretary Kim Jong Il (to six), Kim Il Sung Youth Honor Prize, Kim Il Sung Children Honor Prize, honorary titles, Order of National Flag First Class, Order of Labor, and Orders of National Flag Second and Third Class and Medal of Merit.

Present there were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the SPA, An Tong Chun, minister of Culture, officials concerned and those involved in the production of the drama.
