US Protests Japan's Handling of Radioactive Beef
Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- The U.S. government lodged a protest with Japan on July 12 over its handling the issue of radioactive cesium-contaminated beef from Fukushima Prefecture.

At a bilateral meeting on the crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in Tokyo Charles Casto, head of the U.S. side, reportedly said no explanation had been provided from the Japanese government prior to a press release.

Casto expressed dissatisfaction with Tokyo's response to the issue, noting that the contaminated beef had been discovered despite Tokyo notifying that food not subject to shipment suspensions was safe, said a news report.
