The statement recalled that the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces staged a war of aggression on the DPRK in the 1950s only to suffer a shameful defeat.

It said:

The Korean people have never forgotten the Korean War.

The DPRK has enforced the Songun policy of giving priority to the military affairs to foil the constant threat and war moves on the part of the U.S. and its stooge, the south Korean puppet forces and had access to nuclear weapons to beat back the nuclear attack of the enemy.

The world community sincerely hopes that a peace agreement would be concluded between the DPRK and the U.S. at an early date, the U.S. forces pull out of south Korea and the line of independent peaceful reunification of Korea win an ultimate victory.

It should demand that the U.S. come out for dialogue, cease constant provocations and withdraw its forces from south Korea and thus provide the north and the south of Korea with conditions for settling the issue of reunification by themselves.

We extend full support to the Korean people in the efforts to build a thriving nation and achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.
