China Will Fulfill Mission as SCO Chair Country: Official

Beijing, July 19 (KCNA) -- China gives top priority to fulfilling its mission as chair country of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and is consulting with member nations about its working plan and action program for one year.

Cheng Guoping, assistant to the foreign minister of China, made the remark at a press conference in Beijing on July 14.

China seeks to boost practical cooperation among the member nations, strengthen solidarity and mutual confidence, defend the regional security, promote economic cooperation and expand cultural exchange, he said. In this way, China will help SCO enter the second decade of its development.
