General Secretary Kim Jong Il, who perfectly embodied President Kim Il Sung's Juche-oriented idea on national united front, published a lot of works on the great national unity and national reunification in every period and at every stage of the developing revolution through his ceaseless thinking and inquiry, thus performing undying feats in the cause of great national unity and national reunification.

In the early 1970s Kim Jong Il authored the work "Let Us Struggle Resolutely to Implement the Three Principles of National Reunification", which indicates ways for the Korean people to conduct a vigorous reunification movement with clear-cut principle and standard.

His steadfast will to translate into brilliant reality the President's desire for national reunification is reflected in such works as "Officials Should Devote Themselves to National Reunification" and "Let Us Accelerate Socialist Construction and Hasten National Reunification, Holding the Great Leader in High Esteem".

In "Answers to Questions Raised by the General Director of Granma, the Organ of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba" and other works, he proved in detail that founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo is the just and realistic reunification proposal.

In the work "Let Us Carry Out the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's Instructions for National Reunification" he comprehensively systematized the immortal feats of the President performed in the cause of national reunification.

In 1998 he authored the work "Let Us Reunify the Country Independently and Peacefully through the Great Unity of the Entire Nation" to mark the 50th anniversary of the April north-south joint conference. Clarified in it is the five-point policy of great national unity.

After the adoption of the June 15 joint declaration he published such works as "National Reunification Should Be Achieved Independently by United Efforts of Our Nation" and "On Having a Correct Understanding of Nationalism". In the works he called upon all Koreans to work hard to open a new phase of independent reunification in the idea of "By our nation itself" while meeting every challenge of the separatist forces at home and abroad.
