140 million inhabitants are suffering from swelter in the central western area and eastern area as of July 20 and an emergency alarming was issued in more than 30 states in these areas.

Over 37 degrees centigrade registered in many states in the central western area and 35 degrees centigrade in the eastern area.

Worse still, humidity is high and so effective temperature can exceed 40 degrees centigrade, the U.S. meteorological authorities said.
