U.S. Urged to Respect China's Core Interests

| Beijing, July 24 (KCNA) -- Zhou Wenzhong, vice-chairman of China-U.S. Friendship Association, urged the U.S. to respect the core interests of China at a press conference on July 19. Responding to a question concerning the Chinese protest against the U.S. president's recent meeting with the Dalai Lama, the ex-ambassador to the U.S. said the Chinese position on this issue is consistent and clear. The U.S. should properly deal with issues of bilateral relations to prevent recurrence of such a thing, he added. |
