Natural Damage in Different Countries

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- Tropical storms hit Laos, causing damage. They left 15 persons dead in Vientiane and other provinces and many farmlands, dwelling houses, roads and infrastructure destroyed as of July 21. The material losses amount to about 62 million U.S. dollars. Heavy rains fell in southern Bangladesh recently. The flood left six persons dead, about 200 villages inundated and more than 10 000 inhabitants homeless as of July 22. Shrimp breeding grounds and farmlands were destroyed. Landslides broke out due to heavy rain in the area close to Kathmandu of Nepal on July 22. 16 persons were killed and 50 wounded. |
