There were a rally in Bulgaria and seminars and film shows in Russia and Austria.

Films shown included Korean films on the Songun revolutionary leadership feats of President Kim Il Sung and general secretary Kim Jong Il.

The honorary chairman of the Bulgarian Communists Union and other speakers noted that the army and people of the DPRK won a brilliant victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and the postwar rehabilitation and construction and built in Korea a socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence.

The director for administration of the Moscow Bank of Russia said it was of very weighty significance in ensuring global peace and stability that the Korean people won in the war under the wise guidance of Kim Il Sung.

The chief of the Group of Youth for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea in Vienna and other speakers said the Songun idea founded by the President and carried forward and developed by Kim Jong Il serves as a sure guarantee for the Korean people in defending socialism.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the event in Bulgaria.
