DPRK Papers Reject Remarks of Chairman of U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- The chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff clamored about "threat" from the DPRK and "possibility of additional provocation", speaking to reporters during his recent junket to south Korea. Commenting on his provocative remarks, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says: The remarks were aimed to shift the blame for escalated military tension on the Korean Peninsula on to the DPRK and thus expand lever of international pressure upon the DPRK and find a pretext for armed invasion of it. The U.S. is a wire-puller and mastermind that zealously protects the south Korean puppet forces and instigates them to armed provocation against the DPRK. It is not without reason that last year the chairman visited south Korea to work out with the puppet military warmongers a detailed plan for the second Yonphyong Island shelling "led by the south Korean army and backed by the U.S. troops" and incite those war servants' belligerence. During his recent visit, he again instigated the puppet forces to confrontation and war while pulling up the DPRK for no ground. This clearly shows his bellicose nature and enmity towards the DPRK. The U.S. warlike forces have shown their stance for confrontation with the DPRK at an important time when an atmosphere of detente is being created on the Korean Peninsula, Minju Joson in a bylined commentary says, adding: This evidently proves that their call for peace is just a deceptive trick. |
