Thoroughgoing Investigation into U.S. Forces' Burial of Defoliant Demanded

Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- Representatives of south Korean civic and public organizations belonging to the People's Measure Council for Probing Truth about Burial of Defoliant accused the U.S. forces in south Korea of seeking to gloss over the investigation into the crimes related to the burial of defoliant. They held a seminar in Seoul on July 21.

The U.S. forces are going to finish the investigation into the burial of defoliant in their base in Waegwan only by confirming the burial of drums, speakers said.

The investigation should not be made in such a way as finding out drums only but checking all toxic materials contained in soil and underground water and looking into the damage done to inhabitants, they held.

They demanded the U.S. forces in south Korea open to the public all the reports about the results of the preceding investigations into environmental pollution in the military base in Waegwan.
