Commendations Awarded Artistes and Officials of Unhasu Orchestra

Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- Commendations were awarded to officials, creators and artistes of the Unhasu Orchestra. They have registered peculiar successes in the creation of concerts to meet the daily increasing ideological and emotional requirements and desire of the people in the Songun era by successfully embodying the idea of the Workers' Party of Korea on creating music of the new century in the DPRK. They have thus greatly contributed to arousing the army and people to accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.

Kim Il Sung Prize was awarded to Jang Jo Il and Kim Il Sung Youth Honor Prize to four others.

The titles of People's Actor and People's Actress were awarded to three persons, the title of Merited Artiste to six and the titles of Merited Actor and Merited Actress to seven.

The Order of Labor, Orders of National Flag Second and Third Class and Medal of Merit went to 74.

A decree of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly on awarding the commendations was issued on Wednesday.
