Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- The month of international solidarity with the Korean people came to a close in Cuba with due ceremony at the Cuba-DPRK Friendship Poultry Breeding Farm on July 22. Attending the ceremony were the director of the Cuban Poultry General Bureau, officials of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, local party and power bodies and the Breeding Farm and masses. Present on invitation were the DPRK ambassador to Cuba and his embassy officials. Speeches were made at the ceremony. Juan Jose Leon Vega, first vice-chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, said the U.S. imperialists and their allies invaded the DPRK by mobilizing huge armed forces but they brought to their knees before the heroic Korean people with indomitable mental power. The great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was a shining fruition of the gifted military idea, strategies and tactics of President Kim Il Sung and the wise leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea, he noted, and went on: The U.S. imperialists, defeated in the Korean War for the first time in history, signed the armistice agreement on July 27, 1953 and admitted their disgraceful defeat before the world. They are, however, posing constant threat to the DPRK while keeping in south Korea tens of thousands of their aggression troops armed with nukes and other modern lethal weapons. The President's cause of national reunification is triumphantly advancing thanks to leader Kim Jong Il. The June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration are the best way and landmark for Korea's independent and peaceful reunification. We will as ever strive for unbreakable friendship and unity between Cuba and the DPRK and always extend full support and solidarity to the Korean people's cause of national reunification. |
