Message of Sympathy to Kim Jong Il from Hu Jintao

Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, on July 29 received a message of sympathy from Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China.

The message says:

I was informed of severe flood that hit some areas of your country recently, claiming casualties and property losses.

On behalf of the Chinese government and people, I express deep sympathy and sincere consolation to you and, through you, to the government and people of the DPRK.

I express belief that your people will eradicate the aftermath of the severe flood damage and lead a stable life without fail under the powerful leadership of you, the WPK and the DPRK government.
