Moscow, July 31 (KCNA) -- Russian President Dmitri Medvedev signed a federal law for preventing illegal gambling.

The law had been adopted at the State Duma on July 6 and approved by the Federation Council on July 13.

The new law is aimed to strictly punish those engaging in illegal gambling and ensure unity of application of law and justice over such illegal practice.
