Beijing, August 1 (KCNA) -- Meng Jianzhu, minister of Public Security of China, called upon the security organs to defend national unity and promote the harmony of society.

During his recent inspection tour of the Ninxia Hui Autonomous Region, he said the mass work should be done well in regions of the country because it is of weighty significance in boosting national unity and concord and defending social harmony and stability.

To this end, the security organs should carry forward the excellent tradition of keeping in close touch with people and steadily improve their working ability, he added.
