Meeting Held to Convey Relief Funds Sent by Kim Jong Il to Koreans in Japan

Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- More Koreans in Miyagi Prefecture, were confirmed to have suffered from the mass earthquake and its ensuing tsunami in Japan. A meeting for conveying the relief funds sent by General Secretary Kim Jong Il to their bereaved families and victims was held at Korean Primary and Secondary School in Tohoku on July 30.

Ho Jong Man, chief vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), conveyed the relief funds.

Speakers at the meeting said Koreans in Japan could live with dignity thanks to their homeland and Chongryon, renewing their determination to make redoubled efforts to rehabilitate in unity the school and other facilities of Chongryon at an early date and bring the living of the afflicted people to normal.
