Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- The Emergency Measure Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) is rendering sincere help in the work to eradicate the aftermath of the massive earthquake.

Ho Jong Man, chief vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, on July 30 conveyed to the chairman of the Miyagi Prefectural Commercial Association 50 million yen in relief reflecting the sincerity of Chongryon officials and compatriots from across Japan so it might be used for the construction of a new school building in Miyagi Prefecture.

Earlier, the measure committee sent relief funds to help disaster-stricken Koreans and rehabilitate Korean schools in Miyagi, Iwate, Fukushima and Ibaragi prefectures.

It is appealing to broad strata of compatriots to join the "campaign for collecting funds for relieving compatriots stricken by massive earthquake in East Japan".
