Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Tuesday received a message of sympathy from D. Medvedev, president of Russia.

The message said:

Upon hearing the news that sudden floods hit the DPRK, causing considerable loss in lives and properties, I sincerely express my sympathy.

I'd like to ask you to convey my deep condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families and friends of the dead. I hope the life of all the victims will be brought to normal as soon as possible.
