S. Korean Authorities Hit for Chilling Atmosphere of Dialogue: Minju Joson

Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, the chairman of the south Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff was closeted with Chief of the U.S. Army Staff Martin Dempsey in Seoul over the "military tendency of the north". Martin at a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee stigmatized the DPRK as a "major threat to the regional security in Northeast Asia" and openly described it as the U.S. policy to fight it out to win a victory. Minju Joson Thursday says this in a bylined commentary. The aim sought by south Korea through the one-hour talk was to harm the compatriots with the U.S. help, the commentary notes, and goes on: The south Korean warmongers are doing only acts of spoiling the atmosphere of dialogue, going against the trend of the times. They attempt to stage the adventurous Ulji Freedom Guardian war exercises against the DPRK, while frequently holding war confabs with their American masters. This escalated the already high tension on the Korean Peninsula, bringing to light the south Korean authorities' aim in their much-touted "dialogue". Their hypocritical talk about "dialogue" is a trite artifice to mislead domestic and foreign public opinion. It is aimed to cover up their criminal true colors opposing the improvement of the north-south relations and resumption of the six-party talks, provoke a war against the north in the future and shift the blame on to the other. All facts show that the south Korean authorities seek dependence on foreign forces and confrontation with the people in the DPRK, not dialogue, peace and the improvement of the north-south relations. Dependence on outsiders and confrontation with fellow countrymen lead to a ruin. |
