Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- Bishops of Catholicism in south Korea have staged actions against the puppet authorities' construction of naval base in Kangjong Village, Sogwipho City, Jeju Island.

Ok Hyon Jin, bishop of the Catholic Parish of Kwangju, in a lecture on peace on Monday said that intolerable is the authorities' violent crackdown on the action of the Kangjong villagers to defend their cradle of their life.

Urging the authorities to stop at once the illegal and unilateral project, the bishop declared that the parish would vigorously cope with the developments in Jeju Island in solidarity with the villagers and the Catholic Parish of Jeju.

Meanwhile, bishops in different areas of south Korea expressed their stand to continue to lay bare the unreasonable construction of the Jeju naval base.
