Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Friday dedicates a bylined article to the 14th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's work "Let Us Carry Out the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's Instructions for National Reunification."

In the work Kim Jong Il formulated the three principles of national reunification--independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity--, the 10-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation and the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo, embodiment of President Kim Il Sung's idea of national reunification, as the three charters for Korea's reunification, thus providing the Korean nation with guidelines to be adhered to in the cause of national reunification.

The publication of the work made it possible for the Koreans to conduct more vigorously the struggle for accelerating the national reunification under the President's idea and line, the article says, and goes on:

The Koreans' struggle for great national unity and reunification has developed into a nationwide movement comprising all the people in the north and the south and overseas. This led to the adoption of the June 15 joint declaration, full embodiment of the three charters for national reunification, and the October 4 declaration, its action programme, and eye-opening events unprecedented in the development of inter-Korean relations and the national reunification movement.

The achievements made in the June 15 era of reunification are a striking demonstration of the work's validity and vitality. This instilled into the Koreans the firm conviction that the cause of independent reunification is sure to be realized when all of them get united in struggle.

All Koreans at home and abroad should get closely united under the banner of great national unity and strengthen the driving forces for reunification in every way. When they achieve great unity, it is quite possible to tide over any difficulties and accomplish the cause of national reunification.
