Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- Commendations were conferred on officials and members of the 618 Construction Shock Brigade who worked feats in building the Kosan Fruit Farm in the DPRK.

They have turned the farm into a modern fruit production base in a short span of time in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and devoted service for the people, thus contributing to the improvement of the people's standard of living.

The citation of wrist watch bearing the august name of President Kim Il Sung was awarded to O Pong Hwan, director of the Political Department of the Kangwon Provincial Brigade, Choe Yong Chol, head of the North Hwanghae Provincial Brigade, Kim Ok Bun, member of the Pongsan County Battalion, Pyon Hui Chon, platoon leader of the South Hamgyong Provincial Brigade, and others.

The citation of General Secretary Kim Jong Il went to Pae Yong Chol, section chief of the South Phyongan Provincial Brigade, Jon Kwang Sik, company commander of the North Phyongan Provincial Brigade, and others.

Kim Il Sung Youth Honor Prize was conferred on Choe Sung Chol, first secretary of the 618 Construction Shock Brigade Youth League, Pak Hak Min and Ri Ryong Chol, secretaries of the Kangwon and North Phyongan provincial brigade committees of the 618 Construction Shock Brigade Youth League, and Kim Hak Chol and Choe Chol Jin, members of the Hungnam district and Kilju county battalions.

Also the Order of National Flag First Class went to 53 persons, the Order of Labor to 43 and other orders and medals to many officials and members of the shock brigade.
