Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang City is taking the lead in the nationwide August 3 Consumer Goods Production Movement.

Thousands of housewives' workteams and sideline workteams are active in industrial establishments, co-op farms and residential quarters, and the number of home workers for welfare service has been increased in the city.

Phyongchon, Taedonggang, Mangyongdae and Hyongjesan districts produce varieties of consumer goods by making an effective use of inner resources.

As a result, ready-made clothes, electrical appliances, grassworks, craftworks, plastic goods, utensils and other consumer goods have grown in both variety and quality compared with last year.

Some time ago, Pyongyang City held an exhibition of August 3 consumer goods in the Three-revolution Exhibition, drawing more than 80,000 goods of over 890 kinds.

Ko In Sil, a department director of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, told KCNA that the August 3 Consumer Goods Production Movement can prove successful only when the masses' wisdom and creative effort are pooled and all inner resources and potentials tapped.
