Grave Situation in Tok Islets Attributable to Humiliating Diplomacy
|

Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries are becoming evermore undisguised in their moves to grab Tok Islets. They kicked off a "protest" campaign against the test flight over Tok Islets by a south Korean airliner and disallowed Japanese government employees to use south Korean planes. On Monday, Dietmen from the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan went to the Kimpho Airport for tour of Ullung Island only to be expelled. Later the Japanese foreign minister called the south Korean ambassador to Japan to express "regret." As a threatening gesture, he blustered this would be raised as a diplomatic issue. On the same day an exhibition took place in downtown Tokyo to assert Tok Islets belong to Japan's territory. These reckless actions of the Japanese reactionaries are attributable to the humiliating behavior of the present south Korean conservative ruling quarters. They have pursued a sycophantic and humiliating policy, talking about "calm diplomacy" over the issue of relations with Japan. Whenever such voices critical of the government as the "government got slapped in its cheek by Japan for submitting to it" and "no more calm response" are heard from among south Koreans from all walks of life, the puppet authorities did not hesitate to talk such nonsense as south Korea has "mature partnership" with Japan and "it is not a reasonable response to strongly react to Japan, swayed by temporary upsetting." When there cropped up the issue of building Tok Islets comprehensive marine science base in the waters off the islets in March, the authorities tried to delete "Tok Islets" from the name of the base, reading the face of their Japanese master. They came under strong fire for their behavior after the disclosure of the fact. Some time ago, the puppet authorities submitted to an international body an absurd proposal calling for the simultaneous use of the East Sea of Korea and "Japan Sea," sparking public uproar. The situation in Tok Islets has reached such serious pass due to the south Korean authorities' humiliating and sycophantic "calm diplomacy". |
