Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- The 60th plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea took place in Pyongyang on Tuesday.

Present at the meeting were members and alternate members of the Central Committee and other officials of the union in Pyongyang and local areas.

The meeting discussed the tasks for the union organizations to conduct vigorous mass movement and socialist emulation for improving the standard of people's living and building a thriving nation to significantly greet the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung.

Ro Song Sil, chairwoman of the C.C., DWUK, made a report which was followed by speeches.
