Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- Strong typhoon has swept different areas of China from August 4, causing damage. According to the State Disaster Reduction Committee, 1 353 000 were evacuated and many dwelling houses pulled down or damaged in Shanghai, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong provinces as of August 8. The number of the victims totals 3 649 800 and economic losses stand at 3.128 billion RMB.Y. The tropical storm, Nock-Ten, hit different areas of Thailand. The flood caused by the storm accompanied with heavy rains has left 20 people dead as of August 7. A total of 314 732 households of 1.03 million people have been affected by the widespread flood or mudslides. A landslide struck east Malaysian state of Pahang on Sunday evening, leaving one dead, two badly injured and at least six still missing. |
