Minju Joson Urges S. Korean Authorities to Drop Idea of Hurting Fellow Countrymen

Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- If the south Korean authorities truly stand for the improvement of the north-south relations, they should drop the wicked attempt to do harm to the fellow countrymen with the help of outsiders. Minju Joson Thursday says this in a bylined commentary. The news analyst goes on: They are spreading rumors that they would take steps to improve the relations with the DPRK with August 15 as an occasion. But they only seek to hurt the fellow countrymen in collusion with outside forces. The appendix to "CONPLAN 5029" the south Korean and the U.S. warmongers have worked out from two years ago is clear evidence of it. The said document which was acquired and made public by south Korean media included a phrase that in case of "emergency", the U.S. would play a key role with the south Korean authorities' permission. This is an unpardonable crime mocking and insulting the Koreans in their efforts to improve the inter-Korean relations and achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country. Gravity of the situation lies in that the south Korean chief executive admonished his lackeys to be careful not to cause any trouble over this document. According to his instructions, the south Korean warmongers worked out the appendix to "CONPLAN 5029" in secrecy together with the U.S. military and applied it to the DPRK-targeted war exercises. Far from making repentance of having deliberately deteriorated the north-south relations since taking office, the south Korean conservative authorities are escalating the confrontation with compatriots, while going against the trend of the times. This would never help improve the inter-Korean relations but aggravate the situation on the Korean Peninsula. Not words but practical actions would prove exactly what they want--improved relations or escalated confrontation. |
