Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej endorsed the appointment of Yingluck Shinawatra as Thailand's new prime minister on Monday.

Yingluck, 44, was voted as the first woman prime minister in the country as she gained support of 296 MPs in a lower House meeting on Aug. 5.
