Pyongyang, August 12 (KCNA) -- Events were held in various countries on August 4 and 6 to mark the 51st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership and the 66th anniversary of Korea's liberation. They included a meeting in Switzerland and a seminar in Mexico.

Exhibited in their venues were famous works of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and books and photos on immortal Songun leadership feats.

The chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee who doubles as chairman of the Preparatory Committee for the Centenary of Birth of Kim Il Sung said Kim Jong Il started his Songun revolutionary leadership on August 25, 1960 with the firm will to accomplish the revolutionary cause pioneered by Kim Il Sung with arms.

Meanwhile, an opening ceremony of a DPRK book, photo and handcraft exhibition took place in Russia and round-table talks in Romania on July 30 and August 1 respectively on the 51st anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting in Switzerland.
